Swinburne University of Technology is a public research university in Australia that was founded in 1908, initially as the Eastern Suburbs Technical College. Its main campus is located in Hawthorn, near Melbourne. 

The university is internationally recognized for international partnership research and has performed fairly good in the 2020 Global Nature ranking. The university’s academic curriculum started to expand during world war 2 and added different programs such as chemical engineering, chemistry, computer programming and films and television. The university today has established good relations with leading organisations around the world.
